Alicante, and it's wonderful boulevard with palm trees and shopping streets, is one of the most well-known
towns along the Costa Blanca. Known for its miles of sandy beaches, Alicante is a starting point for
thousands of tourists every year. Famous for its excellent weather, the city invites you to take a
trip along the coast or to the wonderful island of Tabarca. Along the Alicante harbor you find beautiful
long alleys for nice relaxing walks, enjoying the palm trees and the mild climate.
Benidorm is located in the province of Alicante, & on the Northern part of the Costa Blanca, Benidorm is a symbol of the
growth of the Spanish tourist industry. A small fishing village with a population of just 2,000 at the start of
the century, it has been transformed into a tourist Mecca capable of entertaining & lodging 5,000,000 visitors per year
Valencia is Spain's third-largest city with a population of some 740,000. It lies on the Mediterranean coast some
350km south of Barcelona. Madrid is a similar distance inland. Gastronomically, the region is home to paella,
Spain's most famous dish. Historically, it is believed that the Holy Grail resides in Valencia's cathedral and
it was here that El Cid fought the Moors. The climate tends to be mild all year round and one of Spain's
greatest festivals, Las Fallas, takes place every March when revellers enjoy a week long party with
fireworks and massive bonfires every night.
Marbella's motto is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is, once
again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are
willing to pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain's answer to St Tropez. Not too long ago, Marbella
sharpened its image still more thanks to a considerable investment initiated by the
town's colourful and controversial late mayor, Jesus Gil which resulted in a massive landscaping drive.
